ABOUT

Eelco Wagenaar – Visual Artist

a former product-developer who made a career switch from the corporate business into art world. In his practice he makes gratefully use of his technical skills and knowledge. But these technicalities are not allowed to prevail over the end results.

In his creatings drawn to motion and interaction (with audience). The working material can be anything at hand. Ranging from metal, wood to found objects or locations. Sometimes there are performative elements in his (video) works.

Many works are interaction driven. Interactive in the sense that the audience will take an active role in the work and is part of the ‘installation’. The interaction lies not always in the end result, but starts already often in the process towards the end result.

His technical skills accompanied with a romantic and poetic visual imagery leading often to interesting ‘solutions; of apparently complex issues. Thinking in solutions, rather than impossibilities.
